How did you start with macrobiotics?

 A 

I started Macrobiotics after meeting with Bill Spear, a counselor in the Northeast area. My dad came across Macrobiotics as we all searched for answers for my debilitating condition, Crohn's disease, for which I was scheduled to have the first of many intestinal resections.

I had already suffered with this inflammatory bowel disease for 7 years. The heavy toxic drugs weren't helping and my life had become a maze of pain, bloody diarrhea, malabsorption, doctors and hospitals. I started 24 years ago. It took me about 9 months to 1 year to turn my condition around and experience total healing. I haven't had any signs or symptoms of Crohn's in 23 years. Now I live a Crohn's free, drug free, doctor free life.

How has macrobiotics helped you?
 A 

Macrobiotics gave me hope and direction to learn how my body works. Through macrobiotics I learned about the energy of foods and how they effect my body not only in the nutritional sense but also energetically. By understanding the importance of keeping my biological systems balanced, working properly in the most efficient way , my body can create a regenerating environment instead of a degenerating environment. I can experience"macro-life" instead of the limiting "micro-life".

What do you offer and specialise in?

 A 

I specialise in facilitaing people to create changes toward a responsible self care lifestyle that will support a state of energized well-being. I offer individualized consultations, monthly on-going cooking classes (both private and group), lectures and delivery meals.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone trying macrobiotics for the first time?
 A 

Macrobiotics is a journey not a destination. You use the macrobiotic principals as a compass to continuously guide your health to the "macro" energy its meant to be.
